Kaimosi Friends National Polytechnic is located in Vihiga County, within the Western Region of Kenya, at the heart of the Kaimosi Mission Complex. The institution sits on a 60-acre piece of land along the Kisumu–Chavakali–Kapsabet–Eldoret road. Established in 1971 by the East African Yearly Meeting of Friends Church (Quakers), in collaboration with the local community and partners from the USA and UK, the institution was originally known as Friends College Kaimosi (FCK). It was founded to promote vocational education with a strong emphasis on Practical Agriculture, Rural Leadership, Small Business Management, and Entrepreneurship Training. In November 2024, the institution was elevated to a National Polytechnic, officially becoming Friends National Polytechnic Kaimosi (FNPK). This milestone marked a significant step in its commitment to providing high-quality technical and vocational education. As a training institute under the Ministry of Education (MOE), FNPK is dedicated to addressing the challenges posed by rapid technological advancements, evolving education policies, and changing labor market demands. The institution prioritizes capacity building, strategic partnerships, good governance, and a strong corporate image, aligning itself with MOE goals and other government policies.
