Job Description

Role Overview

You will join a growing film and creative production company as a remote consultant, taking video projects from raw camera files to polished final deliverables. Day to day, you will interpret creative briefs, make editorial decisions independently, and produce content that feels intentional and professional across various platforms. Your work directly shapes the company’s reputation, so every project depends on your ability to tell a story through timing, sound, and visual detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit raw footage into finished videos, establishing strong narrative flow and momentum that suits each project’s purpose and audience.
  • Make independent choices on shot selection, pacing, transitions, and music placement to support the intended emotional impact.
  • Apply colour correction and grading to create a consistent, cinematic look across all scenes.
  • Clean up dialogue, mix audio levels, and enhance sound design so that the final mix is clear and balanced.
  • Add motion graphics, lower thirds, titles, captions, and other visual elements where they strengthen the story.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, maintaining an organised post-production workflow and meeting agreed deadlines without constant reminders.
  • Self-review each edit before submission, checking for technical quality, continuity, and creative coherence, then implement revision feedback quickly while preserving the edit’s original intent.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Several years of professional video editing and post-production experience, ideally in a production house, agency, or freelance environment supporting commercial clients.
  • Advanced working knowledge of at least one major NLE such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro, including the ability to handle complex timelines and exports.
  • A strong grasp of visual storytelling, composition, rhythm, and colour theory, with a demonstrated ability to make editing choices that serve the narrative.
  • Proven experience in colour grading and audio post-production, including noise reduction, EQ, and dynamic range management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the discipline to deliver production-ready work without requiring step-by-step supervision.
  • Time management skills that allow you to juggle multiple projects, prioritise deadlines, and remain reliable under pressure.
  • A professional, solution-oriented mindset when receiving creative or technical feedback, and the ability to revise work quickly without compromising quality.
  • No formal education requirement, but a portfolio or showreel that clearly demonstrates strong storytelling, professional finishing, creative editing, pacing, colour grading, audio treatment, and versatility across different content types.

What We Offer / Why Join

This is a fully remote consulting arrangement with a monthly fee of KES 60,000. You will work within a creative and professional production environment, taking on diverse, high-quality projects that allow you to apply your creative judgement. The role offers genuine autonomy: you are trusted to own your edits from brief to final delivery, and your expertise will directly shape the finished work.
