Role Overview
As a Trusts Consultant, you will be the driving force behind revenue expansion by spotting and securing lucrative business deals across the organisation. Your day-to-day work will involve market analysis, preparing client proposals, and strengthening the network of agents, brokers, and institutional partners who bring in new business. By aligning sales efforts with corporate strategy, you ensure the company meets its acquisition and retention targets while keeping a sharp eye on profitability and cost balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement strategic marketing plans that support the company’s growth objectives, from initial research through to execution and evaluation of results.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, reporting actionable intelligence to management to guide decisions on new products and positioning.
- Develop tailored sales strategies and client retention programmes, using sales data to refine marketing tactics and improve performance.
- Analyse revenue and marketing expenditure to strike the right balance between cost efficiency and sales growth, safeguarding company profitability.
- Draft business plans, sales pitches, presentations, proposals, and quotation documents for both prospective and existing clients.
- Recruit, train, and motivate distribution partners including independent and internal agents, brokers, employers, trustees, scheme administrators, and institutional aggregators.
- Build and sustain lasting relationships with sponsors, trustees, administrators, and clients to drive mutually beneficial growth initiatives.
- Respond to requests for quotations with accurate, competitive pricing, and arrange client meetings on behalf of the sales channels to present offerings and negotiate terms.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, finance, accounting, marketing, social science, or a closely related field from a recognised university.
- A minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience selling financial services, with a proven record of meeting revenue targets.
- Progress toward a professional qualification in marketing, pensions, or an equivalent discipline is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling proposals, concept papers, reports, and presentations.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural awareness, with a demonstrated ability to build alliances and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Proven negotiation and persuasion abilities, with the confidence to present to large audiences and senior decision-makers.
- A self-starter mindset with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- High ethical standards and discretion when handling confidential client and company information.
- Solid business acumen, coupled with a positive, self-motivated approach and a focus on measurable outcomes.
