Role Overview
This tailor keeps the camp’s fabric-based equipment and soft goods in dependable working condition, from vehicle canvas and seat covers to guest tents and smaller sewn items. The role combines hands-on stitching, accurate measuring, material selection, and practical problem-solving to deliver repairs, alterations, and custom builds that meet exact specifications. Strong work here matters because well-maintained canvas and textile items directly support camp comfort, presentation, and day-to-day operations.

- Take precise measurements of customers or items, record instructions and preferences accurately, and arrange fittings or test placements to confirm a correct finish.
- Choose and prepare suitable fabrics and fittings for each job, including ripstop, shade net, PVC, sewing thread, braided nylon rope, zips, and sliders.
- Use sewing machines and hand tools to construct, alter, repair, or modify garments and canvas products.
- Label materials and components clearly so pieces remain matched and assembly errors are avoided.
- Repair and maintain seat covers, headrests, picnic bags, zippers, sliders, and vehicle roof canvas when required.
- Improve existing designs for vehicle canvas, seat covers, and guest tents by carrying out regular checks and planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
- Create new items from design ideas, specifications, and customer preferences, and provide the camp with cost estimates for customized work.
