Role Overview
As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at PrismHR, you will develop and maintain sophisticated web applications that span every tier—from database and backend services to front-end interfaces. Working within a distributed team, you'll contribute to PrismHR's flagship SaaS, mobile, and on-premise products, with a strong emphasis on modernizing legacy systems and delivering secure, high-performance solutions. Your technical leadership will directly influence the quality and reliability of human capital management (HCM) software used by clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and debug complex application code across the full stack, ensuring robust functionality and maintainability.
- Write and execute unit tests for assigned work to validate code quality and catch issues early.
- Create and maintain technical documentation that supports multiple phases of the software lifecycle.
- Lead code reviews, providing constructive feedback and upholding engineering best practices.
- Define and enforce software engineering standards throughout the development lifecycle.
- Drive system design efforts to address security, performance, data integrity, and scalability requirements.
- Review key requirements deliverables to ensure a cohesive, functionally sound product definition.
- Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance team to align testing strategies with all project aspects.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, advanced degree, or equivalent practical experience, plus 10+ years in the software industry with a focus on product design, architecture, or support.
- 5+ years of expert-level JavaScript and TypeScript development.
- Proven experience building and maintaining complex single-page applications using modern frameworks and libraries such as AngularJS, React, or Vue.js.
- Deep knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SCSS, and related web technologies.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful web services and/or microservices, particularly Node.js and Express.
- Strong Node.js development skills.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, continuous integration, test-driven development, and Git version control.
- Experience with Docker in Linux or OSX environments.
- Exposure to NoSQL or MultiValue (PICK) databases.
- Cloud experience with AWS or Azure is a plus.
- Legacy modernization experience is a significant advantage.
- HCM domain knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a desire to mentor developers.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies, take on challenges, and accept direction.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as an individual contributor while collaborating and sharing expertise efficiently.
