Role Overview
As a Showroom Sales Representative, you are the first point of contact for walk-in customers and the person who turns their interest into a completed sale. Working on the showroom floor, you combine product demonstration, pricing guidance, and order processing to give every visitor a confident buying experience. Your work directly drives daily sales targets and shapes how customers perceive the brand long after they leave.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet everyone who enters the showroom, uncover what they are looking for, and steer them toward products that match their needs and budget.
- Walk customers through product features and technical specifications, explain pricing and value, and resolve questions on the spot so buying decisions are not delayed.
- Prepare quotations, process orders, and issue invoices, while keeping accurate records of every customer interaction for follow-up and reporting.
- Keep displays clean, well-organised, and visually appealing, and make sure brochures, sample units, and catalogues are always available and in good condition.
- Track showroom stock levels, flag missing or damaged items, and ensure display fixtures and equipment are used and maintained safely.
- Follow up on leads and enquiries by phone or in person to convert interest into sales and contribute to overall showroom targets.
- Handle customer complaints calmly and professionally, referring complex operational or technical matters to management with a clear summary of the issue.
- Liaise with store, delivery, and technical teams so that orders are fulfilled correctly and customers receive their products on time.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum KCSE Secondary School Certificate or equivalent. A Certificate or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or Customer Service is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated customer service ability with strong active listening, persuasion, and sales closing skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication, supported by professional presentation and conduct.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple customers during peak business hours.
- High personal integrity, dependability, and close attention to detail.
- Able to perform well both independently and as a contributing member of a showroom team.
