Senior Human Resource Officer - Flowers

Role Overview

AAA Growers Limited is looking for a Senior Human Resource Officer to oversee core HR services for its Flowers Division. Working with divisional managers, you will help ensure the business has the right people and structures in place, while supporting fair performance practices, employee development and compliance in an operational setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep divisional organisation charts up to date, confirm that roles have approved job descriptions, and check that positions align with the grading framework.
• Coordinate recruitment from vacancy planning through selection and onboarding for operational and supervisory roles.
• Help establish and review employee KPIs, organise performance reviews, and follow up on agreed improvement actions.
• Maintain talent information, contribute to succession planning, assess development needs, and arrange relevant training.
• Respond to routine employee questions and concerns, advise line managers on workplace matters, and refer formal cases through the appropriate channels.
• Maintain reliable HR documentation and prepare regular reports for divisional management.
• Support compliance with Kenyan labour requirements, internal policies and relevant social audit standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least three years of HR experience in an operational environment.
• Practical experience in recruitment, performance management, job description development, organisation chart management and KPI frameworks.
• Good working knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in floriculture, cut flower production or a comparable agricultural setting is an advantage.
• Familiarity with social audit standards such as Fairtrade, GRASP and SMETA is an advantage.
