Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role demands a high level of technical precision to ensure that financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls are maintained at the highest standards. You will provide strategic support to management through detailed financial analysis and budget monitoring while supervising a junior team to drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a certified professional with a background in complex ERP environments and a proven track record of streamlining financial workflows.
The Role
Financial Reporting & General Ledger Integrity

Prepare and review comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with IFRS and GAAP.

Ensure the integrity of the general ledger through accurate transaction posting and rigorous balance sheet reconciliations (Banks, Payables, Receivables, and Inventory).

Transform raw financial data into actionable insights to assist senior management in strategic decision-making.
Budgetary Control & Forecasting

Lead the development of annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts.

Conduct detailed variance analysis to monitor budget performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and recommending corrective actions for overruns.

Manage the company’s daily cash position and treasury functions to ensure optimal liquidity for manufacturing operations.
Working Capital & Treasury Management

Oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable and Receivable cycles, ensuring timely collections and supplier payments.

Implement and enforce credit limit controls and payment terms to safeguard cash flow.

Prepare accurate weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts to support procurement and operational planning.
Audit, Tax & Statutory Compliance

Act as the primary point of contact for both internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and available.

Oversee tax planning and ensure timely filing of all statutory obligations (VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, etc.).

Enforce internal control policies and ensure the organization remains compliant with evolving financial regulations and accounting standards.
Leadership & Process Optimization

Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of high performance and technical accuracy.

Collaborate with the IT department to enhance ERP functionalities, automating manual processes to increase department productivity.

Coordinate with procurement and sales teams to resolve financial discrepancies and improve inter-departmental workflows.
Qualifications & Requirements
Academic & Technical Profile

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Certification: Must be a CPA (K), ACCA, or hold an equivalent professional accounting qualification.

Experience: 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within a high-volume or manufacturing organization.

Software: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Odoo, Oracle, or QuickBooks) and expert-level Excel skills.
