Role Overview
Sanlam Allianz Investments Ltd (SAIL) is recruiting an Investment Intern for a short-term placement in Kenya. Working inside the investment team and reporting to the Chief Investments Officer, you will support research, portfolio monitoring, market updates, client reporting, and trading administration. The role is important because the team depends on well-organised analysis and clear reporting to guide investment decisions and keep clients informed.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce daily market briefs and help prepare materials for the weekly cash flow review.
- Track portfolio positions and performance, contributing to monitoring reports and analysis.
- Draft and polish client reports and presentation decks with accurate figures and clear narratives.
- Assist with trading support, market surveillance, and the records that accompany trade activity.
- Research equities, fixed income instruments, and broader market developments to underpin investment recommendations.
- Take on ad hoc research, analysis, reporting, and administrative work for the investment team.
- Apply internal policies, risk controls, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards to all tasks.
- Complete other duties as set out in performance objectives and communicated by the team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance or a closely related field.
- Progress toward CFA, ACCA, or CPA certification.
- Six months to two years of experience, including internships, in a comparable financial-sector role.
- Strong report writing, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Integrity, professionalism, and a genuine willingness to learn.
