Role Overview
This regional nursing leadership role oversees the clinical quality, staffing, resources, and day-to-day delivery of migration health assessment services across multiple operations. You will help teams meet resettlement-country medical requirements while strengthening vaccination, infection prevention, documentation, and care coordination standards across both established clinics and temporary or remote missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide regional nursing and administrative workflows across health assessment activities, including examinations, imaging, laboratory services, immunization, tuberculosis care, counselling, referrals, pre-departure procedures, and medical documentation.
- Provide technical leadership for regional vaccination programmes, translating global policy into operational guidance and monitoring coverage, vaccine use and wastage, refusals, cold-chain performance, and adverse events following immunization.
- Advise on nursing and support-staff structures, participate in recruitment for senior nursing posts, support workforce planning and leave coverage, and contribute to programme budget and resource reviews.
- Oversee medicine, vaccine, equipment, and medical-supply management, including inventory systems, cold-chain controls, emergency kits, procurement procedures, and planning for surge or mobile operations.
- Develop and deliver induction, refresher, and specialist training for nurses; maintain clinical guidance and standard operating procedures; and support continuing education and the exchange of practice resources.
- Audit nursing practice and service workflows using consistent quality tools, identify gaps, recommend corrective measures, and promote evidence-based standards and quality assurance across regional operations.
- Serve as the regional infection prevention and control focal point, support implementation of facility standards, and advise teams on communicable-disease and vaccine-preventable-disease developments.
- Coordinate medical data and document-quality checks, regional reporting, and operational planning; support medical movements, escort arrangements, remote assessments, and collaboration with country teams, panel physicians, health providers, and other partners.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution and at least five years of relevant professional experience, including two years in a management role; or a university degree in Nursing and at least seven years of relevant clinical experience, including three years in management.
- Substantial nursing experience in national and international settings, with demonstrated senior-level management capability.
- Mandatory experience applying quality assurance and quality control principles; experience creating nursing guidance, instructions, or procedures is an advantage.
- Experience in tuberculosis management, mass immunization, communicable diseases, laboratory testing, or public health is an advantage.
- Previous international experience in Health Assessment Programmes is a strong asset. Familiarity with IOM databases and applications is also an advantage.
- Experience contributing to the review or accreditation of nursing degrees or diplomas is relevant.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
