Role Overview
This role keeps the organisation’s records secure, accessible and properly managed throughout their lifecycle. The Records Management professional handles incoming and outgoing correspondence, tracks pending files and ensures that inactive records are disposed of in line with Government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Protect files and documents against loss, damage or unauthorised access.
- Check file condition and renew covers when needed.
- Promote careful handling and appropriate use of records.
- Monitor pending correspondence and arrange follow-up files for action.
- Receive and dispatch letters, recording transactions in the relevant registers.
- Prepare schedules for records proposed for disposal.
- Dispose of inactive files in accordance with applicable Government regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or Records Management from a recognised institution.
