Receiving & Store In Charge

Role Overview

The Receiving & Store In Charge manages the movement of goods from delivery through storage and issue, helping hospitality, food and beverage, and operational teams access the supplies they need. The role combines hands-on checks of incoming stock with accurate recordkeeping and regular inventory reviews to reduce errors, waste, and shortages.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept deliveries of food, beverages, and operating supplies; check items for condition, quantity, quality, and expiry dates before storing them.
• Match deliveries against purchase orders, local purchase orders, and goods received notes, and record any discrepancies for follow-up.
• Store items appropriately and issue stock to departments against authorised requests.
• Keep inventory records current, monitor stock levels, and flag items that need replenishment.
• Use FIFO stock rotation and track movement, wastage, and products approaching expiry.
• Conduct routine stock counts, reconcile physical quantities with system records, and prepare inventory updates.
• Coordinate stock requirements and discrepancies with Finance, Purchasing, Food & Beverage, and Operations colleagues.
• Maintain orderly, secure storage areas and follow established stock-control procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in receiving, storekeeping, or inventory management.
• Experience in hospitality, hotels, clubs, or food and beverage operations is preferred.
• Working knowledge of inventory systems, stock-control processes, FIFO rotation, and inventory reconciliation.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills.
• Integrity and care in handling stock and maintaining reliable inventory records.
• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration, hospitality management, or a related discipline is indicated as an estimated qualification.
