Job Description

Role Overview

As a Quality Controller at Kenchic PLC, you will check food safety and product quality throughout the production process, from incoming ingredients and packaging to finished goods ready for dispatch. Your inspections, testing and follow-up on deviations will help the Quality Assurance Department maintain product standards, meet regulatory requirements and strengthen continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor food safety and quality controls during receiving, production, storage and dispatch.
  • Take samples and perform routine laboratory tests, sensory assessments and in-process checks.
  • Keep clear, accurate records that support product traceability, quality reporting and the investigation of process deviations.
  • Investigate nonconforming products and customer complaints; contribute to root-cause analysis and follow corrective actions through to completion.
  • Support new product development by carrying out trials and testing, preparing reports and contributing to product specifications.
  • Review quality data and trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend corrective or preventive measures to the Quality Assurance and Systems Manager.
  • Conduct internal audits, check GMP, hygiene and sanitation practices, and monitor completion of cleaning schedules.
  • Maintain quality assurance programmes, schedules and records; support compliance with applicable standards and regulations, and deliver food safety and quality training to relevant teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in the FMCG industry.
  • A diploma in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Biology or a related field; a bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of FSSC 22000, quality management systems and HACCP principles.
  • Understanding of relevant food safety regulations, Good Laboratory Practices and quality assurance methods.
  • Experience using data analysis and statistical tools to interpret quality results.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
