Role Overview
This role keeps the organisation moving by getting people, paperwork, and supplies where they need to be, safely and on schedule. Because the driver is often the first and last point of contact for visitors, partners, and staff, the standard of driving, punctuality, and professionalism shown on the road reflects directly on the employer. Outside of scheduled trips, the position also provides light logistical and errand support that keeps daily office operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport employees, guests, documents, and goods to agreed destinations on time, selecting routes that balance safety with the shortest reasonable travel time.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean, fuelled, and roadworthy by performing routine checks on oil, water, tyre pressure, lights, brakes, and other essentials before and after trips.
- Monitor the validity of insurance, inspection certificates, and other vehicle documents, and act early to ensure nothing expires.
- Record mileage, fuel purchases, and trip details accurately in the vehicle logbook.
- Report mechanical faults, accidents, or damage to the supervisor without delay and follow up until the issue is resolved.
- Observe all traffic laws and internal road safety rules, driving defensively in heavy traffic, bad weather, or unfamiliar areas.
- Handle messenger runs, document deliveries, and other basic office errands during periods when driving duties are light.
- Protect company property, documents, and confidential information with care and discretion at all times.
