QHSE Officer M/F

Role Overview

This role supports safe, compliant and consistent operations across Mombasa’s warehousing, transport, IFF, port and MCT activities. You will work directly with site teams, contractors and subcontractors to identify risks, strengthen QHSE practices, investigate incidents and improve service quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver QHSE inductions and ongoing safety briefings for employees, visitors, subcontractors and yard traffic marshals.
• Inspect operational sites, project activities, work equipment and certifications; conduct daily checks as needed and lead site tours at least weekly.
• Ensure risk assessments are completed for non-routine and high-risk tasks, and develop or support activity-specific accident-prevention plans.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, identify corrective actions, and track action plans through to completion.
• Monitor safety and quality indicators, analyse reports and statistics, maintain required records, and prepare daily QHSE occurrence reports.
• Lead toolbox talks and monthly HSE meetings, coordinate awareness and refresher training, and maintain site safety signs and tags.
• Check compliance with applicable legal requirements, internal standards, client requirements and QHSE procedures; promptly stop unsafe work and notify the Project Manager.
• Support quality reviews, subcontractor service audits and process improvement; report operational deviations and improvement opportunities through the AGL Progress platform.
• Assist with yard security, access control, cleaning and maintenance coordination, including briefing and monitoring traffic marshals and reporting their findings to management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related discipline.
• Three to four years of relevant experience in transport, logistics, or the oil and gas industry.
• Working knowledge of management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
• NEBOSH qualification is an advantage.
• Ability to carry out site inspections, support audits, investigate incidents and follow corrective actions through to closure.
