Role Overview
Provide dependable, safety-focused transport for an employer, family members, clients, and invited guests around Nairobi, nearby counties, and longer-distance destinations. The role combines route planning and flexible scheduling with attentive vehicle care, accurate expense records, and strict discretion about passengers’ movements and private matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive passengers to work, appointments, meetings, events, and other destinations while prioritising safe, courteous service.
- Choose practical routes using GPS, current traffic conditions, and knowledge of Nairobi roads and regional highways; allow enough time for punctual arrivals.
- Adapt to itinerary changes and travel requirements outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Carry out daily checks of tyres, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and other essential vehicle systems before travel.
- Keep the vehicle clean, orderly, and supplied with appropriate emergency and safety equipment.
- Arrange and follow up on servicing, repairs, tyre changes, inspections, and insurance renewals.
- Follow Kenyan traffic rules and safe-driving practices, and handle passenger and vehicle information confidentially.
- Maintain clear records of mileage, fuel purchases, and routine vehicle costs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Kenyan BCE driving licence and a clean, verifiable driving record.
- At least three years of professional experience as a personal, family, executive, or corporate driver.
- Strong working knowledge of Nairobi’s road network, suburban routes, bypasses, and major upcountry highways.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Demonstrated integrity, punctuality, discretion, and reliability.
- Calm, courteous manner and the ability to maintain sound judgement in heavy traffic or under pressure.
- Available for full-time, on-site work in Nairobi, with flexibility for changing travel schedules.
