Patient Access Representative

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Patient Access Representative to join its remote healthcare team. The selected candidate will support patient services by managing prescription requests, insurance authorizations, and required documentation while working closely with medical offices, insurance providers, and internal teams.

This remote position requires strong follow-up skills, healthcare administrative knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple patient accounts efficiently. The ideal candidate will help ensure patients receive uninterrupted services by maintaining accurate records, resolving access-related issues, and following healthcare compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Request and obtain prescriptions and insurance authorizations from medical offices and insurance companies.

• Follow up with healthcare providers and insurance payers to ensure timely receipt of required documentation.

• Review and resolve questions related to Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMN) and provider requirements.

• Re-verify patient eligibility for ongoing healthcare services.

• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation according to HIPAA and regulatory standards.

• Communicate with patients, provider offices, and internal departments to resolve access-related concerns.

• Manage multiple patient accounts while meeting deadlines and service requirements.

• Maintain professional communication and provide timely updates throughout the process.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.

• Minimum 2+ years of healthcare administrative, medical office, or insurance-related experience.

• Experience with insurance authorizations, pre-certifications, or prescription follow-up is preferred.

• Experience in home health, DME, or enteral healthcare services is an advantage.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

• Ability to maintain a professional home office setup with reliable high-speed internet.

• Strong knowledge of:
