Role Overview
This role involves operating medium-duty trucks to transport cargo, equipment, and tools between operational sites, ensuring each shipment arrives on time and intact. Day-to-day responsibilities include completing pre-trip inspections, driving on assigned routes, handling secure loading and unloading, and keeping accurate transport records. The position is essential to maintaining smooth logistics and supporting broader project activities without compromising safety or regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive medium-duty trucks on planned routes to deliver goods, materials, and equipment within the operational area.
- Load and unload cargo carefully, using proper securing techniques to prevent shifting, damage, or safety hazards during transit.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking brakes, tires, lights, fluid levels, and other vehicle systems for roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation in line with organizational procedures.
- Follow designated transportation schedules and routes, communicating promptly with supervisors and dispatchers about delays, route changes, or operational needs.
- Report vehicle defects, maintenance issues, or malfunctions immediately to enable corrective action and avoid downtime.
- Handle minor repairs and adjustments such as topping off fluids, checking tire pressure, and ensuring all lights are functional.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean and in good working order, preserving their operational readiness.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least two years of verifiable experience driving medium-duty trucks in an operational, industrial, or logistics environment.
- Valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements for medium-duty vehicles, meeting local or U.S. licensing requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle safety standards, cargo securement rules, and pre-trip inspection protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, delivery instructions, transportation schedules, and safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical ability to lift, load, and transport cargo within organizational weight limits and vehicle specifications.
- English proficiency sufficient for reading, speaking, and comprehending contract directives and emergency procedures.
- Valid passport with at least one year of remaining validity at the time of hiring.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas in accordance with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Must pass contract medical screenings and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials or base access authorization.
