Job Description

Role Overview

This position supports the legal claims team by keeping fee note and recovery workflows moving from initial review through to final account closure. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Legal Claims, you will work with advocates, service providers, and internal colleagues to ensure payments, documentation, and recovery claims are handled accurately and within agreed service levels. The role matters because disciplined fee note processing and consistent recovery tracking help the organisation control costs, meet third-party claim obligations, and maintain clear records with external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review incoming fee notes and process them in line with executed service level agreements and the Advocates Remuneration Order.
  • Follow up on missing documentation needed to complete fee note processing and to progress third-party claims.
  • Assist with reconciling fee note statements received from service providers, identifying discrepancies for resolution.
  • Help prepare, issue, and report on statements that confirm fee note accounts have been closed with service providers.
  • Initiate and pursue recovery claims, including the payment of fees being claimed.
  • Prepare recovery schedules and supporting documentation, and maintain a tracker showing the status of each recovery matter.
  • Carry out data entry, document management, and information retrieval so files remain complete and accessible.
  • Review files, follow up on outstanding documents, and perform other duties assigned within the legal claims function.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; an insurance option is preferred.
  • No prior work experience is required, although foundational knowledge of insurance processes and procedures will be an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy, with the ability to use standard office and data-management tools confidently.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of insurance products.
  • Sales and marketing management skills.
