Injection Molding Supervisor

Role Overview

This production leader oversees the daily operation of an injection molding area, balancing output, product quality, equipment performance, and delivery commitments. By supporting the production team and improving processes, the role helps keep manufacturing reliable, efficient, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

• Set daily production priorities and allocate people and equipment to meet output, quality, cost, and delivery goals.
• Review machine utilization, cycle times, downtime, and production results; address issues affecting performance.
• Direct and develop operators, technicians, and process staff through day-to-day guidance and training.
• Oversee mold changes, machine settings, process adjustments, troubleshooting, and in-process quality checks.
• Work with Maintenance to plan preventive servicing, resolve tooling issues, and improve equipment reliability.
• Track material consumption, inventory, scrap, and production records, identifying opportunities to reduce waste.
• Use 5S, Lean practices, root cause investigation, and corrective actions to improve safety and manufacturing performance.
• Coordinate production needs and quality or equipment concerns with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline; a technical diploma with substantial relevant experience may also be considered.
• Five to eight years of injection molding experience, including at least three years in a supervisory or management position.
• Practical knowledge of injection molding processes, mold setup, process troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Experience operating or supporting Haitian, Husky, or comparable molding machines and automation systems.
• Understanding of thermoplastics, mold design, auxiliary equipment, Lean manufacturing, and quality control.
• Proficiency with ERP or SAP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical thinking, clear communication, and practical problem-solving ability.
