HSE / Safety Officer

Role Overview

As an HSE / Safety Officer, you will help keep construction work in Dubai safe by checking site conditions, advising teams on hazards, and supporting the application of health, safety, and environmental procedures. Your inspections, incident follow-up, and practical safety guidance will help reduce risk and maintain compliance across project activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe construction activities and flag unsafe practices or conditions that could lead to injury or environmental harm.
• Carry out regular site inspections, document findings, and follow up on agreed corrective measures.
• Assist with applying HSE policies, procedures, and risk controls across the workplace.
• Help investigate incidents, record relevant details, and propose steps to prevent a recurrence.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions suited to the work being carried out.
• Keep inspection, incident, and other HSE records accurate and ready for compliance review.
• Work with employees and supervisors to encourage safe practices and address safety concerns.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Two to five years of occupational safety experience, preferably in a construction setting.
• A relevant bachelor’s degree.
• Working knowledge of HSE requirements, hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident reporting.
• Familiarity with workplace safety procedures and standards such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or ISO 45001.
• NEBOSH, OSHA, or ISO 45001 certification is an advantage.
• Clear communication and reporting skills, sound problem-solving ability, and a collaborative approach.
