Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on, dependable plumber to join our maintenance team and take ownership of all water-related systems across our facilities. This role involves both planned upkeep and reactive repairs, ensuring that supply lines, drainage, and fixtures operate safely and efficiently every day. Your work will directly support operational continuity, reduce water wastage, and uphold building standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine inspections of water supply networks, storage tanks, and drainage systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve leaks, blockages, and faulty pipework using appropriate tools and diagnostic techniques.
  • Install and replace digital water meters, taps, valves, pumps, and other plumbing fittings in line with specifications.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of plumbing infrastructure and minimise unexpected downtime.
  • Respond promptly to emergency callouts, including burst pipes and sewage backups, and implement temporary or permanent fixes within set timeframes.
  • Provide practical recommendations to management on system upgrades, water-saving measures, and improvements to existing installations.
  • Document every assignment with a clear service report, outlining the work performed, parts used, and any follow-up actions required.
  • Prepare material lists and cost estimates for proposed repairs before major work begins.
  • Ensure all installations and maintenance activities comply with Kenyan plumbing codes, safety regulations, and local building standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A recognised plumbing qualification such as a Trade Test Certificate (Grade I, II, or III), Craft Certificate, Diploma in Plumbing, or an equivalent accredited credential.
  • At least two years of verifiable hands-on plumbing experience, preferably involving both maintenance and installation work.
  • Prior experience working in commercial buildings, offices, factories, or institutional environments is a strong advantage.
  • Solid working knowledge of water supply systems, drainage principles, and common plumbing materials and tools.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, measure accurately, and follow safety protocols without supervision.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with facility managers and documenting completed work.

What We Offer / Why Join

This role provides a fixed gross monthly salary of KES 25,000, giving you predictable earnings while you work on varied plumbing challenges in a commercial environment. You will gain valuable experience maintaining modern metering technology and large-scale water systems, with the satisfaction of seeing your work keep essential facilities running smoothly.
