This is a hands-on opening for someone who wants to learn the communications craft by doing it, not by reading about it. You'll sit close to live client work from day one, supporting the strategists and creatives who shape campaigns, messaging, and media outreach — and your research, drafts, and coordination will feed directly into what clients see and hear.
Role Overview
In this position you'll move between research, writing, and coordination tasks that keep client programmes running smoothly, picking up the habits and standards of professional communications work as you go. You'll be trusted with real briefs rather than practise exercises, which means your contributions matter to the team and to the client relationship. For someone building a career in PR, brand, or integrated communications, this is the kind of grounding that accelerates everything that comes next.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor media, industry news, and social conversations relevant to client accounts, and compile clear coverage summaries and daily or weekly round-ups.
- Draft and proofread written materials such as press releases, media pitches, briefing notes, social copy, and internal updates for review by senior team members.
- Build and maintain media lists, influencer trackers, and contact databases, researching the right journalists, outlets, and creators for each brief.
- Support the planning and delivery of campaigns, launches, and events, including logistics, timelines, asset collation, and follow-up.
- Contribute ideas and observations in brainstorms, status meetings, and client calls, and capture actions and decisions accurately in notes.
- Assemble client-facing reports, decks, and performance summaries by pulling together data, clippings, and commentary.
- Help schedule and coordinate social content calendars, approvals, and publishing alongside the wider team.
- Take on ad hoc research and administrative tasks that keep projects on track and deadlines met.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Currently studying or recently graduated in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, media, or a related discipline.
- Strong written English with a genuine interest in editing, storytelling, and tailoring a message to different audiences.
- Prior exposure to communications work through an internship, student publication, society role, freelance project, or coursework portfolio.
- Comfortable juggling several briefs at once and reprioritising when deadlines shift.
- Careful eye for detail — you notice typos, inconsistent facts, and numbers that don't add up.
- Working familiarity with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, plus confidence using social platforms and picking up new tools quickly.
- Curiosity about how media, brands, and audiences interact, and a willingness to ask questions early rather than guess.
- A collaborative attitude and the reliability to follow through on commitments without being chased.
What We Offer / Why Join
- Real client briefs from the outset, so the work you produce goes into live projects rather than sitting in a drawer.
- Direct access to experienced strategists and creatives who will review your work, explain their reasoning, and help you sharpen your instincts.
- Broad exposure across the communications landscape, letting you discover where your strengths lie — writing, media relations, social, or campaign planning.
- A team that welcomes fresh ideas and gives credit for them, and that values the perspective someone newer to the industry brings.
- Practical, portfolio-ready experience that gives you concrete examples to talk about in your next interview.
