Job Description
Role Overview
Support young learners in PP1 and PP2 as they build foundational skills through age-appropriate lessons and activities. The role combines CBC-based teaching with classroom organisation, learning-material preparation and regular assessment of each learner’s progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons suited to PP1 and PP2 learners and aligned with the Competency-Based Curriculum.
- Prepare and use teaching materials that help make concepts accessible to young children.
- Assess learners’ understanding and development, and use observations to guide classroom activities.
- Manage the classroom to support safe, focused and positive participation.
- Communicate clearly with learners and support their engagement in daily learning.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), as required for the position.
- Experience teaching PP1 and PP2 learners.
- Knowledge of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
- Ability to prepare teaching and learning materials and assess learners.
- Strong classroom-management and communication skills.
- Creativity, patience and a genuine interest in working with young children.
