Position: Driver (Tour Guide)

Primary Mandate

We are seeking a professional, guest-oriented Driver (Tour Guide) to facilitate seamless travel experiences along the iconic Mara River. Your objective is to merge safe, defensive driving practices with warm hospitality. You will be responsible for transporting international and local guests to designated attractions, strictly adhering to custom travel itineraries while ensuring passenger safety and comfort. This role demands an adaptable individual who takes pride in maintaining fleet vehicle readiness and acting as an enthusiastic ambassador for the region's rich tourism ecosystem.

Core Workstreams

Guest Transit & Destination Support

  • Transport tourists safely and punctually to parks, lodges, and safari viewpoints according to pre-arranged schedules.

  • Offer basic tour guidance, sharing valuable insights regarding the local terrain, wildlife routes, and regional points of interest.

  • Assist passengers with luggage management and ensure interior climate and seating arrangements optimize guest comfort.

  • Observe strict compliance with national traffic laws, wilderness regulations, and company safety frameworks.

Fleet Integrity & Fleet Logistics

  • Conduct meticulous pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to verify mechanical roadworthiness.

  • Maintain the assigned vehicle in an immaculate, fully fuelled, and clean condition at all times.

  • Track vehicle servicing intervals, logging mileage, fuel usage, and reporting required maintenance or mechanical faults immediately.

  • Ensure all regulatory compliance documentation, including transit licenses and insurance covers, are up to date within the vehicle cabin.

Hospitality & Reporting Accountability

  • Welcome guests with a professional demeanour, addressing specialized comfort requests or itinerary questions promptly.

  • Keep precise, organized trip logs detailing route timelines, mileage, and operational expenses.

  • Report any transit delays, route obstructions, or vehicular incidents to the hospitality management team without delay.

Expertise Profile

The Essentials

  • Licensure: Valid commercial driving license with an unblemished, clean driving record.

  • Domain Exposure: Proven background in tourism transport, hospitality logistics, or specialized chauffeur services.

  • Geographical Knowledge: A strong understanding of routes, terrain dynamics, and entry protocols within the broader Mara ecosystem is highly advantageous.

  • Physical Fitness: Capability to navigate rough terrains and work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, to match tourist arrival peaks.

  • Defensive Driving Mastery: Expert knowledge of road safety parameters, wildlife crossing precautions, and off-road navigation.

  • Interpersonal Etiquette: Excellent verbal communication skills suited for professional interactions with international clientele.
