Driver

Role Overview

Deliver flowers to designated stalls and customers while protecting their condition from dispatch through handover. The role also supports reliable daily distribution by keeping clear delivery records, caring for the assigned vehicle, and reporting problems quickly so delays, damage, or shortages can be addressed.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow the daily delivery plan, transporting flowers to the correct destinations promptly and handling them carefully during loading, transit, and unloading.
• Secure and position flowers appropriately in the vehicle to help preserve their freshness and prevent bruising or other damage.
• Check flower quantities and condition before departure and at handover; raise any shortages, damage, or other differences with the supervisor.
• Complete delivery notes and daily records accurately, obtain receipt acknowledgements where required, and submit documents within the expected timeframe.
• Keep the vehicle clean and carry out pre-trip and post-trip checks, including essential fluid levels, tyres, fuel, lights, indicators, and brakes.
• Report defects, warning lights, unusual noises, missing or expired vehicle documents, and scheduled maintenance needs without delay.
• Drive in accordance with traffic laws and workplace procedures, use the vehicle only for authorised duties, and promptly report accidents, damage, penalties, or other incidents.
• Communicate courteously with customers and colleagues, maintain a neat and hygienic appearance, protect confidential information, and follow workplace conduct and service standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle assigned.
• KCSE certificate or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Previous delivery-driving experience is an advantage, particularly in flowers, fresh produce, transport, or retail distribution.
• Sound knowledge of road rules and safe driving practices, with basic vehicle-checking and maintenance awareness.
• Ability to keep accurate delivery records and complete required paperwork.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach to customer service.
• Reliable, punctual, honest, and responsible, with the physical fitness needed to handle and move flower deliveries where required.
