Role Overview
As Consultant Gynaecologist, you will deliver evidence-based care for women through Zuri Health’s in-person clinics and virtual services. Your work will include assessing patients, guiding treatment and supporting reproductive health needs, helping make quality gynaecological care more accessible across both care settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outpatient consultations, take relevant histories and perform appropriate clinical assessments.
- Evaluate gynaecological and reproductive health concerns, develop care plans and arrange follow-up where needed.
- Provide clear, compassionate explanations of diagnoses, treatment options and preventive care.
- Deliver consultations through digital platforms as well as physical care locations, adapting the approach to each setting.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic medical records and related systems.
- Use sound clinical judgment to identify cases requiring referral, further investigation or urgent attention.
- Work independently while coordinating care with colleagues and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute a proactive, improvement-minded approach to delivering accessible women’s healthcare.
Requirements & Qualifications
- MBChB or MBBS from a recognised institution.
- Postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, such as an MMed, equivalent fellowship or board certification, from an accredited institution.
- Full registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), a current practising licence and professional indemnity cover.
- At least 12–18 months of clinical experience after specialisation, preferably in a busy hospital or clinical environment.
- Experience in outpatient gynaecology and women’s reproductive health services.
- Strong clinical judgment and patient-management skills, with a compassionate, patient-centred communication style.
- Good written, verbal, analytical and organisational abilities.
- Confidence using electronic medical records and hospital management systems, with the ability to learn digital health tools quickly.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-changing clinical environment; an entrepreneurial outlook and interest in expanding access to healthcare are valued.
- Experience with telemedicine or digital health consultations is an advantage.
