Communications Support Officer

Role Overview

This role turns information and media gathered by World Vision Sudan teams into polished, timely materials for digital channels, print products, donor communications, and advocacy. Working from Nairobi and coordinating remotely with colleagues across Sudan, the designer helps ensure field stories are easy to use, appropriately managed, and consistent across the response.

Key Responsibilities

• Create graphics and layouts for social media, infographics, situation reports, donor updates, and campaign materials.
• Edit field photography and video into short-form content for websites, social platforms, and donor reporting.
• Apply World Vision’s established visual identity, including its colour palette, typography, and logo standards.
• Develop reusable layouts and templates for recurring products such as monthly situation reports, human-interest stories, and social media posts.
• Coordinate incoming written and visual content from communications staff across Sudan response locations, prioritising urgent material for editing and publication.
• Organise digital assets with consistent file names and metadata, and maintain associated consent records.
• Monitor submissions against the content calendar and identify missing material or schedule gaps.
• Help prepare and publish approved content on World Vision Sudan’s digital and social media channels; respond to urgent requests and support major communications moments, with field travel when needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in multimedia or digital communications, communications, journalism, or a related discipline.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in graphic design, multimedia production, or digital content management.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro, or comparable tools such as Canva.
• Professional English-language communication skills.
• Experience in an NGO, humanitarian, or media setting is an advantage.
• Familiarity with organising large collections of digital assets or field-generated content is an advantage.
• Experience coordinating with remote teams or colleagues in hard-to-access locations is an advantage.
• Based in Nairobi, with regular remote coordination with field staff in Sudan and travel to the field when required.
