Chief Surveyor

Role Overview

Detech Contracting is seeking a Chief Surveyor to direct surveying work on infrastructure projects in Dubai, with particular focus on NDM / NDRC works and underground crossings. You will guide survey crews, verify measurements and records, and work with project teams to help keep construction aligned with approved designs and required project standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee surveying activities for NDM / NDRC infrastructure works.
• Direct setting out and check alignment and levels for underground crossings and related construction.
• Validate survey measurements, coordinates, profiles and as-built records for accuracy and consistency.
• Use and supervise the use of total stations, digital levels and relevant surveying software.
• Read approved engineering drawings, investigate discrepancies between design and site conditions, and coordinate their resolution.
• Work with engineers, consultants and site teams to support survey requirements throughout project delivery.
• Lead survey personnel and monitor the quality and compliance of their work.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Demonstrated hands-on experience surveying NDM / NDRC works is essential.
• Previous experience leading survey teams in a Chief Surveyor role.
• Strong practical knowledge of setting out, alignment, level control and underground crossing surveys.
• Experience checking survey data, profiles, coordinates and as-built documentation.
• Proficiency with total stations, digital levels and surveying software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and coordinate effectively with project stakeholders.
• Experience on UAE infrastructure projects, particularly in Dubai, is preferred.
