Role Overview
Based in Nairobi, the Business & Operations Support Intern will help keep daily business activities running while gaining practical experience across client service, business development, recruitment, HR administration, and payroll support. The role suits someone who enjoys working with people and digital tools, can move between varied tasks, and wants to build broad operational skills in a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Research prospective clients, make initial follow-ups, and help strengthen relationships with current and potential customers.
- Support the recruitment process for domestic staff, including candidate coordination, interviews, onboarding, and placement.
- Assist with monthly client payment administration and keep associated records organised.
- Help prepare payroll information and complete related administrative tasks.
- Update and maintain accurate employee and client information in the HR information system and other business records.
- Provide day-to-day HR, administrative, and operational support, including tracking assigned tasks through to completion.
- Use spreadsheets, databases, Microsoft Office, and other digital tools to organise information and support business processes.
- Draft routine reports, correspondence, and administrative documents, and assist with other operational needs as they arise.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Female candidate aged over 25.
- Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Administration, Business Management, or a related discipline.
- Confident computer user, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn other business applications.
- Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills, particularly when engaging with clients, candidates, and colleagues.
- Previous internship, industrial attachment, or work experience in HR, administration, customer service, recruitment, sales, or business development is an advantage.
- Organised, dependable, and able to prioritise several tasks while maintaining follow-through.
- Professional and discreet when handling confidential employee or client information; receptive to coaching and feedback.
