Role Overview
This position drives revenue growth by building and nurturing a network of licensed insurance brokers. You will be the main point of contact for broker partners, helping them quote, bind, and renew general insurance policies while ensuring the channel remains profitable and compliant. Your day-to-day focus is on expanding the broker base, increasing sales volume, and using performance data to guide decisions that improve customer retention and long-term channel health.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, onboard, and activate new broker partners while developing existing relationships to increase their sales output and commitment to your product portfolio.
- Maintain a well-organised sales pipeline for general insurance products, prioritising high-potential brokers and tracking progress through the full sales cycle.
- Coordinate the preparation and delivery of quotations, policy renewals, and service requests, ensuring prompt turnaround and accurate documentation.
- Work directly with brokers to resolve client issues, streamline premium collection, and ensure compliance with intermediary controls and internal processes.
- Use portfolio analytics to identify underperforming segments, improve retention, and uncover opportunities to grow share of wallet within each broker account.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, product, marketing, risk, and compliance teams to align broker channel initiatives with broader company objectives.
- Design and implement engagement activities, training sessions, and performance reviews that raise broker productivity and deepen their product knowledge.
- Prepare regular reports on channel performance, conversion rates, premium volumes, and profitability, recommending adjustments where needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- A professional insurance qualification such as CII, ACII, or AIIK is mandatory.
- At least five years of experience in insurance or financial services, with a minimum of three years dedicated to business development, account management, or channel sales.
- Proven track record of managing insurance broker relationships and delivering measurable increases in premium income, retention, and channel profitability.
- Strong working knowledge of general insurance products, underwriting principles, policy administration, claims handling, premium collection, and intermediary governance.
- Hands-on experience using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and data reporting tools to monitor pipelines, analyse sales trends, and improve broker performance.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across underwriting, claims, operations, marketing, compliance, and external partners in a multi-stakeholder environment.
