Basic job summary:
The jobholder is responsible for the supervision of day-to-day cafeteria operations, ensuring efficient food service, cleanliness, staff coordination, and customer satisfaction. The Associate Cafeteria Supervisor supports the Cafeteria Supervisor in delivering high-quality dining experience to students, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Cafeteria Operations Support
- The key tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Support the supervision of meal service operations during breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts.
- Ensure serving counters, dining areas, and cashier stations are clean, organized, and operational.
- Monitor food presentation and portioning during service hours.
Staff Coordination and Oversight
- The key tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in assigning tasks to service staff, including servers, cashiers, and cleaners.
- Supervise staff performance during shifts and provide on-the-spot guidance or support.
- Facilitate staff briefings and ensure adherence to cafeteria policies and dress codes.
Customer Service and Complaint Handling
- The key tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Provide courteous and prompt assistance to students, staff, and guests.
- Receive and address minor complaints or concerns and escalate complex issues to the Cafeteria Supervisor.
- Promote a welcoming and orderly cafeteria environment.
Supplies and Inventory Monitoring
The key tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor availability of trays, utensils, condiments, and other service essentials.
- Report low stock levels and maintenance issues to the Cafeteria Supervisor.
- Assist with proper storage and handling of supplies at the service line.
Health and Safety Compliance
The key tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure food handling, cleaning, and waste disposal practices comply withsafety regulations.
- Monitor staff hygiene practices and correct any deviations.
- Support cleaning of the cafeteria before, during, and after service.
Minimum Academic Qualifications:
- Diploma in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Food & Beverage Service, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
