Job Description

Role Overview

The Assistant Stocks and Credit Manager supports the day-to-day flow of products, orders, customer accounts and payments in a fast-moving consumer goods environment. By keeping stock records, deliveries and credit activity under control, the role helps the business serve customers reliably while following its credit procedures and providing management with dependable operational information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply the company’s credit procedures by reviewing customer accounts, assessing new credit applications and highlighting account risks.
  • Prepare customer statements, reconcile account balances, allocate incoming payments and pursue overdue debts.
  • Process customer orders and sales documentation, acknowledge purchase orders, and keep customer and account records current.
  • Compile sales and revenue information and produce regular reports on sales, credit and operational activity.
  • Coordinate product allocation against confirmed orders and forecasts, and track stock movements, returns and mobile warehouse balances.
  • Reconcile crates and cans, monitor their movement and follow up on discrepancies to reduce losses.
  • Check customer deliveries and coordinate transport arrangements with transporters and internal teams; maintain transport records and monitor service performance.
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints by coordinating follow-up with the relevant teams, while keeping customers informed about orders and deliveries.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A degree in Business Administration, Commerce or an equivalent field.
  • CPA Part II or a higher qualification.
  • At least three years of experience in a busy FMCG environment.
  • At least three years’ experience using ERP systems; Syspro knowledge is an advantage.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • A Master’s degree in Business Management is an added advantage.
