Assistant Manager – Audit & Assurance

Role Overview

As Assistant Manager in the Financial Services Audit & Assurance team, you will oversee external audits from planning through completion, coordinating your team’s work and staying closely engaged with clients. Your reviews and guidance will help deliver dependable audit conclusions for financial institutions and support compliance with applicable reporting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage external audit engagements for clients in financial services, including funds, asset managers, fintech businesses, banks, insurers and brokerages.
• Coordinate audit fieldwork, monitor progress and help teams address issues as they arise.
• Review audit workpapers and financial statements, checking that evidence and conclusions are properly documented.
• Apply IFRS, ISA and relevant audit methodologies throughout each engagement.
• Provide practical direction and feedback to audit team members, supporting consistent, high-quality work.
• Maintain regular client communication, manage engagement expectations and build effective working relationships.
• Consider relevant financial services regulations and risk factors, including UAE or GCC requirements where applicable.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Five to eight years of external audit experience.
• Experience auditing financial services organisations, such as funds, asset management firms, fintech companies, banks, insurers or brokerages.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS, ISA and external audit processes.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise audit teams and manage client relationships.
• ACCA, CA, CPA or ACA qualification preferred.
• Exposure to UAE or GCC regulatory environments is an advantage; familiarity with DIFC, ADGM, DFSA or FSRA requirements is particularly valued.
• Knowledge of financial services regulation and risk management.
