Danube Group is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Buyer to join its Garden Category team in the UAE. The role will support the buying function across retail and e-commerce channels, with a focus on product sourcing, supplier coordination, merchandising, inventory, and market analysis.
The successful candidate will assist with supplier negotiations, product listings, pricing, purchase orders, and seasonal buying plans. This position is ideal for someone interested in gardening, outdoor living, retail, and category management who enjoys working with market data and building strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Buyer with supplier negotiations, product sourcing, and purchase order management.
• Manage product listings, pricing, and inventory across e-commerce and Cash & Carry stores.
• Analyse sales results, customer demand, and market trends to support purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate with marketing teams on product content, promotions, and campaigns.
• Monitor product availability and help resolve supply chain and inventory issues.
• Research competitors and the market to identify potential new products.
• Support merchandising activities and seasonal purchasing plans.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Respond to product-related customer queries and feedback.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in Buying, Merchandising, Category Management, or Procurement.
• Experience in Garden, Home Improvement, Home Décor, DIY, or Retail is preferred.
• Good understanding of buying procedures, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales information and market trends.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and ERP systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to learn in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Product sourcing, buying, and supplier management.
• Inventory, merchandising, and retail operations.
• Sales analysis, market research, and category trends.
