Air Export Operations Executive

Role Overview

As an Air Export Operations Executive at Orient Cargo in Dubai, you will own air export files from the moment a booking is confirmed until the consignment is uplifted and handed over at destination. The role sits at the centre of a fast-moving freight forwarding operation, where you will be the person keeping specialised cargo — perishables, dangerous goods, and freezone shipments — moving through airline cut-offs, customs formalities, and ground handling without slippage. Getting this right matters: in air export, a missed cut-off or a documentation error means spoiled cargo, delayed deliveries, and unhappy customers, so your attention to detail directly protects the company's service reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day air export shipments end to end, from booking confirmation and space allocation through to uplift, departure confirmation, and proof of delivery.
• Prepare, check, and issue export documentation, including master and house air waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and any permits or approvals required for the destination.
• Handle perishable consignments with the urgency they demand, coordinating cool-chain handling, short transit times, and airline cut-offs so temperature-sensitive cargo reaches market in condition.
• Process dangerous goods shipments in line with IATA DGR requirements, verifying declarations, packing instructions, labelling, and marking before tendering to the airline.
• Manage freezone cargo movements, including gate passes, transfer documentation, and coordination between freezone facilities, customs, and airport handlers.
• Liaise daily with airlines, ground handlers, customs brokers, transport providers, and internal teams to secure uplift, resolve holds, and keep shipments on schedule.
• Monitor shipment milestones in the operating system, flag delays or discrepancies early, and drive each issue to resolution while keeping customers informed.
• Maintain compliance with airline, customs, and international shipping regulations, keeping current with procedural or regulatory changes that affect export cargo.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in air export operations, ideally within a freight forwarding or logistics environment.
• Demonstrated experience handling perishable cargo, dangerous goods, and freezone shipments — not just general air freight.
• Solid working knowledge of air freight export procedures, including booking, space allocation, cut-off management, and AWB issuance.
• Familiarity with dangerous goods and perishable cargo handling standards and the documentation each category requires.
• Confident with export shipping documentation and customs regulations relevant to shipments moving out of the UAE.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• Strong organisational skills and clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to juggle several live shipments at once.
• Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment; candidates who can join immediately are preferred.
