Role Overview
Build and evolve full-stack applications for enterprise banking, combining hands-on React and TypeScript development with backend services and practical GenAI capabilities. This senior role puts AI-native delivery, secure engineering and reliable cloud-native architecture at the centre of software used in a banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop responsive banking application interfaces using React and TypeScript, and contribute across the full software stack.
- Design and implement backend services, REST APIs and microservices using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js and Python.
- Apply event-driven patterns and integrate data and messaging components including PostgreSQL, Kafka and IBM MQ.
- Build and integrate GenAI features, using prompt engineering and MCP tools where appropriate.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, including for generating and improving tests.
- Apply spec-driven development practices to shape implementation work and keep delivery aligned with requirements.
- Package and deploy services with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift, supporting delivery workflows through GitHub Actions.
- Protect application quality through secure coding, OAuth2/OIDC, OWASP practices, and attention to performance and scalability.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 10 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong, practical frontend expertise in React and TypeScript; both are essential for this role.
- Strong working knowledge of Java 17 or later, Spring Boot 3.x, Node.js and Python.
- Experience building microservices, REST APIs and event-driven systems.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Kafka, IBM MQ, Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, and GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC, secure coding practices and OWASP standards.
- Experience with spec-driven development, prompt engineering, MCP tool use, and AI-generated testing.
- Demonstrated experience building AI-native or GenAI applications; familiarity limited to using AI tools as coding assistants is not sufficient.
- Banking or financial services experience is preferred. Work involving payments, cards, lending, core banking or digital banking channels is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the UAE banking domain is preferred.
