Accounts Assistant

Role Overview

This accounting role sits within a pharmaceutical company and involves managing the full cycle of financial transactions—from processing payments and reconciling accounts to supporting month-end reporting and stock-related entries. Day-to-day, you will collaborate closely with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate financial records and smooth cash flow. Your work directly supports compliance, budgeting, and the operational efficiency of the organisation, making you a key link between finance and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process incoming payments, issue receipts, and perform regular bank and ledger reconciliations.
• Manage invoicing, follow up on outstanding debts, and maintain supplier account records.
• Prepare supporting documentation for financial reports, including trial balances and expense summaries.
• Maintain accurate accounting entries for inventory and stock movements, ensuring stock-ledger alignment.
• Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and adherence to internal financial policies.
• Liaise with procurement, sales, and warehouse departments to resolve financial discrepancies and coordinate transaction flows.
• Update and maintain accounting records within the ERP system, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Fluent spoken and written proficiency in Gujarati, Hindi, Swahili, and English.
• CPA qualification or active progress toward certification is preferred.
• Between one and three years of accounting experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and financial formulas).
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly Odoo finance and inventory modules.
• Highly organised mindset with strong analytical ability to spot inconsistencies and improve processes.
