Primary Mandate

We are looking for a highly organized Accounts Assistant to maintain the foundational data integrity of our finance office. Your objective is to ensure that all daily financial transactions—including receivables, payables, and petty cash—are captured accurately within our accounting systems. You will act as a key support asset to the Finance Manager, managing transaction verification, running routine ledger reconciliations, and safeguarding financial documents. This role is built for a detailed-oriented professional who wants to sharpen their corporate accounting skills in a fast-paced environment.

Core Workstreams

Transaction Processing & Ledger Maintenance

  • Capture and post all daily receipts, invoices, vouchers, and journal entries into the central accounting system.

  • Maintain up-to-date and completely accurate records for accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Audit supplier statements and customer accounts against internal ledgers to clear discrepancies.

  • Compile necessary data points and verify payroll schedules before final processing.

Cash Control & Collection Management

  • Manage the complete petty cash life cycle, including daily disbursement tracking, verification, and replenishment reporting.

  • Run mandatory bank reconciliations and assist in mapping out weekly cash flow summaries.

  • Monitor aging customer balances and execute professional collection follow-ups to ensure liquidity.

  • Review purchase orders and delivery notes to flag inconsistencies before processing payments.

Audit Readiness & Document Governance

  • Structure and maintain a highly organized archival system for all physical and digital financial records.

  • Prepare supporting documents, ledger schedules, and tax sheets required during statutory internal and external audits.

  • Assist in tracking department budget limits, expense parameters, and variance changes.

  • Collaborate directly with banking partners, external suppliers, and customer service teams to resolve transaction friction.

Expertise Profile

The Essentials

  • Education/Credentials: Minimum CPA Part II qualification, or a Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Experience: 1+ years of dedicated bookkeeping or accounting experience within a busy, high-volume environment.

  • Technical Suite: High functional literacy in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting software systems.

  • Numerical Precision: An exceptional eye for identifying system errors, rounding anomalies, and double-entries.
