Role Overview
This role involves managing the full cycle of day-to-day accounting activities—from processing invoices and reconciling bank statements to preparing accurate financial reports that guide business decisions. As the key point of contact for internal financial data, you will ensure ledgers remain balanced, transactions are properly classified, and periodic statements are delivered on schedule. Your work directly supports the finance team’s ability to maintain clean books and provide reliable numbers for budgeting, audits, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification, payment runs, and customer collections follow-up.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations, and inter-company balance confirmations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, calculate depreciation, and track asset additions or disposals.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports for management review.
- Support the month-end and year-end close procedures, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Liaise with external auditors during audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
- Ensure all transactions are coded correctly and align with internal policies and tax regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related field.
- Professional Certification: CPA (Part II level) or ACCA (Part II level) is required.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with accounting software; strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and Word.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of IFRS or local GAAP, basic bookkeeping principles, and financial reporting frameworks.
- Experience: At least 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience including financial reporting and account reconciliations.
- Core Competencies: Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work under deadlines in an organised manner.
- Soft Skills: Professional communication, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
