Job Title: Fisheries Extension Officer (Entry/Training Grade)
Job Summary
This is the entry and training grade for diploma holders. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a more experienced officer to deliver fisheries extension services and support related activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in delivering fisheries extension services, including conducting field days and training fishers.
- Collecting and compiling fisheries statistical data.
- Participating in fish quality assurance activities and marketing.
- Engaging in value addition initiatives for fishery products.
- Performing any other duties as assigned by senior officers.
Requirements for Appointment
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in either Fisheries Management, Natural Resource Management, or an equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of membership to a professional body from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
