Description:
Sama International School in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented School Accountant to join its finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for accounting professionals who have strong financial management skills and experience handling day-to-day accounting functions within a professional environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the school’s financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with established accounting procedures. The position requires a high level of accuracy, organization, and the ability to manage multiple financial responsibilities efficiently.
Candidates with previous experience working in a UAE school environment will have an added advantage. The ideal applicant should possess strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation
• Process financial transactions and ensure proper record keeping
• Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and school policies
• Coordinate with management regarding financial and administrative matters
• Support audits and other finance-related activities when required
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of general accounting experience
• Previous experience working in a school within the UAE is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong organizational and record-management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to work accurately under deadlines
• Strong knowledge of:
• Financial reporting and accounting principles
• Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet analysis
• Accounting software and bookkeeping procedures
