Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provides substantive and administrative support to the Director of CSD and Head of ORMU. • Provides coordination support to corporate-wide change management projects such as process simplification of administrative policies and procedures implementation in UNEP and UNEP-administered entities with client-centric efficiency measures.
- Support the Divisional efforts to develop and implement strategies to achieve greater efficiency gains in line with the recommendations made by various audit bodies.
- Reviews and analyzes information from the various functional areas and summarizes for reporting to senior management and member states.
- Assists in performing special projects assignments in collaboration with the UNEP Divisions by planning and facilitating meetings, assisting in summarizing action plans and monitoring follow-up actions.
- Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analytical notes, presentations to senior management and member states.
- Undertakes research and data collection activities for the functional areas of CSD.
- Provides substantive support and coordinates activities related to management committees and taskforces in which CSD Director participates or provides leadership.
- Supervises support staff as required
- Contributes to the collection and analysis of data as well as identification of trends or patterns and provides draft insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods for data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, environment studies, sustainable development, law or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage.
Work Experience
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration or related area is required. Experience in supporting process redesign/simplification and workflow optimization, including the establishment of KPIs across administrative functions, is required.
- Experience coordinating inputs for senior management and Member State reporting across administrative areas, including HR, resource mobilization, finance, and oversight functions, is required. Experience working with international organizations and environmental-related issues is desirable.
- Experience working with client-service delivery frameworks, including user feedback mechanisms, service quality monitoring, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) oversight, is desirable. Experience in drafting or refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidance materials, and process documentation to support integrated service delivery is desirable.
- One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
