We are looking for a skilled Accountant with 5 years of experience, preferably in the construction industry or related fields, to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and financial planning specific to construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, with a focus on construction contracts and related transactions.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements in line with construction project requirements.
- Reconcile project-specific accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including cost analysis and project profitability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies specific to the construction industry.
- Process payroll, ensuring that wages, benefits, and deductions for construction workers are accurately accounted for.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, especially for ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
- Perform regular audits and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with project-specific financial guidelines.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management regarding project costs, margins, and overall financial health of construction operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant, with a focus on construction projects or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting within the construction sector.
- Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Procore, or equivalent) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze project costs and financial performance.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with project managers and construction teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
