Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE
Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso-based beverages including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, mochas, and specialty drinks.
- Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, brewing equipment, and POS systems.
- Ensure consistency in drink quality, presentation, and taste.
- Follow standard recipes and beverage preparation procedures.
Customer Service & Interaction
- Greet customers warmly and take accurate orders in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide product information and recommend beverages based on customer preferences.
- Handle customer concerns or complaints politely and efficiently.
- Ensure fast and efficient service during peak hours.
Workstation Management
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the coffee station, equipment, and serving area at all times.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health standards.
- Restock ingredients, coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies as needed.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Assist in inventory control by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Manage cash handling and operate the POS system accurately.
- Participate in team meetings and support the implementation of café promotions or new menu items.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service, or a related field
- Prior experience working as a Barista in a café or restaurant environment (minimum 1 year preferred)
- Strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art is an added advantage
- Ability to operate espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Salary: Ksh. 22,000 - Ksh. 24,000
