Job Description
The Social Media Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the conglomerate’s social media strategy across all business units. The role is critical in enhancing brand visibility, strengthening stakeholder engagement, supporting corporate communication objectives, and driving digital growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with corporate, brand, and business-unit objectives.
- Conduct social listening to identify trends, sentiment, and opportunities for brand positioning.
- Support digital campaigns for group brands, subsidiaries, and CSR initiatives.
- Content Creation & Publishing
- Plan, create, and schedule high-quality, engaging content (text, video, graphics, stories, and reels).
- Collaborate with internal creative teams and external agencies to maintain consistent brand messaging.
- Ensure content is tailored to audience segments across different platforms
- Community Management
- Monitor, moderate, and respond to audience interactions in a timely and professional manner.
- Escalate customer service issues to relevant departments for quick resolution.
- Build strong online communities and foster positive engagement.
- Analytics & Reporting
- Track KPIs and present weekly/monthly performance reports (engagement, reach, conversions, sentiment).
- Recommend and implement optimizations based on analytics insights.
- Monitor competitor activities and share market intelligence.
- Advertising & Campaign Support
- Assist in planning and executing paid social media campaigns.
- Work with digital agencies to optimize ROI and budget utilization.
- Support brand launches, events, and group-wide communication campaigns.
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all social media content aligns with company policies, regulatory requirements, and brand guidelines.
- Maintain an updated social media playbook and crisis communication checklist.
- Uphold data protection and ethical digital practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in social media management, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.
- Experience managing multi-brand or multi-business social media accounts is an added advantage.
