Description: The Geothermal Development Company (GDC) is a fully government-owned company in Kenya's energy sector. GDC was formed in 2008 as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to accelerate the development of geothermal resources in Kenya. GDC is tasked with developing steam fields and selling geothermal steam for electricity generation to KenGen and to private investors. Geothermal steam is an environmentally friendly and abundant raw material used for generating electricity. The government and several development partners have been financing risks associated with geothermal exploration and drilling.

  2. Manager – Administration & Property Management

  3. Principal Legal Services Officer

  4. Principal Insurance Officer

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should:

  • Hold relevant academic and professional qualifications in fields such as Geology, Geothermal Engineering, Energy Engineering, Business Administration, Property Management, Law, Insurance, Risk Management, or related disciplines depending on the position.

  • Have substantial professional experience in their respective areas, preferably within the energy, utilities, or large corporate/government sectors.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.

  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Be proficient in relevant professional tools, systems, and regulatory frameworks associated with their roles.

  • Exhibit high integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public service values.
