Job Description
Brites Management Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Branch Manager for our Micro Finances division in Kapenguria, Kenya. The ideal candidate will manage branch operations, develop strategies to increase market share, and ensure our financial products meet client needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all branch operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Develop and implement strategies for the microfinance division to achieve financial targets.
- Manage and lead the branch team to foster a productive and customer-focused environment.
- Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Branch Operations & Management
- Oversee daily operations of the branch, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise branch staff and ensure efficient workflow across all departments (loans, customer service, cashiering, etc.).
- Maintain a secure and professional banking environment.
- Monitor and ensure operational efficiency and excellent service delivery.
Credit & Lending Management
- Supervise loan processing, appraisal, disbursement, and recovery processes.
- Maintain a healthy loan portfolio by ensuring timely repayments and low delinquency rates.
- Ensure adherence to credit policies, procedures, and risk mitigation frameworks.
- Evaluate and approve/recommend loans within set authority limits.
Business Development & Client Relationship Management
- Drive business growth through client acquisition, product promotion, and customer retention strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local leaders, and community stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to increase the branch’s outreach and portfolio.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of loan officers and branch support staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, training sessions, and staff capacity-building initiatives.
- Foster a high-performance culture and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely branch performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with all financial, operational, and audit standards.
- Address and resolve internal and external audit findings.
Requirements
- Diploma in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 3 years proven experience in a managerial role within the finance sector, preferably microfinance.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Proficient in financial analysis and reporting.
- Minimum experience in microfinance, retail banking, or financial services, with at least 1–2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- In-depth understanding of microfinance principles, group lending methodology, and rural financial markets
- Strong credit analysis, risk management, and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience working with Core Banking Systems (CBS).
