Job Description
  • The Fleet and Transport Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring that d.light’s motorbikes and vehicle fleet operate safely, reliably, and efficiently to support business operations across regions. The jobholder will be responsible for determining and coordinating required repairs and maintenance to achieve maximum equipment life, minimal downtime, and ensuring the safety of all employees. In addition to managing fleet upkeep, this role oversees the day-to-day transport operations, including driver coordination, route planning, and compliance. The Supervisor will work collaboratively with the sales teams, office administration, and other operational functions to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services, ultimately contributing to customer satisfaction and operational success.

R&Rs

  • Fleet Management
  • Responsible for refueling, inspecting and overall upkeep of d.light vehicles,
  • Conduct periodic fleet inspections across the entire fleet; including travel to field locations,
  • Monitor employees in the field on adherence to driving regulations and safety,
  • Determine the scope of the repair or maintenance work needed and serve as primary liaison,
  • Keep up to date records on the appropriate information about vehicle/motorcycles,
  • Coordinate and schedule fleet repairs as well as regular maintenance service of fleet (Oil Change, Tire rotation, inspections, e.t.c),
  • Ensure all company fleet registration and insurance information is up to date and in vehicles,
  • Prepare monthly fleet inventory and incident reports and assist with fleet-related incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis,
  • Work closely with Sales and Administration teams to understand ongoing fleet needs,
  • Build and maintain strong work relationships with local vendors.
  • Transport Management
  • Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, and various d.light staff/visitors transfers,
  • Planning, organizing and managing d.light drivers to ensure work is completed and consistent with company standards,
  • Ensure compliance of transport-related policies as well as safety rules and government regulations,
  • Promoting safe work activities by conducting road safety audits, and attend company safety meetings,
  • Perform any duties, responsibilities and tasks as assigned.

KPIs

  • Quick turnaround on issue resolution,
  • Efficient and cost-effective support on fleet repairs and/or maintenance and d.light transfer services,
  • Continuous enforcement of Health & Safety standards for employees in the field.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fleet or transport supervision and accident free driving with good understanding of traffic rules and standards,
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and transport regulations
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record– Class BCE
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Candidates with craft certificates or additional qualification will have an added advantage
  • A valid certificate of good conduct
  • Must be able to work in fast – paced environment
  • Able to adopt to sudden changes and needs of the fleet,
  • Passion for social enterprise, development of people and environmental benefits.
