Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Accounting and Reporting

  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, and other control account reconciliations.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure timely payments.
  • Manage customer invoicing, collections, and credit control processes.
  • Maintain accurate AP/AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.

Taxation and Compliance

  • Prepare and file statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, and Corporate Tax in accordance with KRA regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and provide support during tax audits.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.

Inventory and Cost Accounting

  • Work closely with the procurement and warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory valuation and cost tracking.
  • Analyze variances between physical stock and system records, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support cost analysis and margin reporting for management decision-making.

ERP and Systems Management

  • Utilize ERP/accounting systems for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
  • Support system enhancements, ensuring data integrity and accurate financial reporting.

Internal Controls and Process Improvement

  • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to internal control procedures.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CPA (Kenya) qualification – minimum CPA Section 4 or higher.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy accounting environment.
  • Experience in an FMCG or manufacturing setup is desirable
  • Proven experience in tax compliance and statutory filings.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
Salary: Ksh. 65,000 - Ksh. 70,000
